Southern Roots Series by Julie Morgan

Hey everyone! I've been working a lot on the Southern Roots series lately. Hard to believe the initial story, Southern Roots, was simply about Bobby Ray and Lexi. Thrown in some Blaine, Abby and Makayla, well you have a series on your hands.
Let me take you into a deeper dive on what the Southern Roots series entails. So sit back and enjoy the ride.

Southern Roots

Southern Roots (published September 2014) takes you into the lives of Bobby Ray Shaw and Lexi Griffin. 
Bobby Ray is a southern gentleman. He ventures home to Texas for his father's wedding and meets Lexi along the way. Neither want anything serious, but both cannot guard their hearts to what is coming.
Bobby Ray sweeps Lexi off her feet in no time. Lexi has Bobby Ray eating out her hands.
In comes trouble with a capital T. And said trouble is named Blaine and Abby.
Blaine has issues. Serious issues. He's also Lexi's ex. Thrown in some Abby... well you have a huge mess of feelings, emotions and destruction.
Did I mention Bobby Ray's cousin, Makayla? Yeah the girl is a spit fire.
This story is a lot of fun to read and offers an enjoyment around young adults learning who they are, where their lives will lead them and much, much more.

City Lights

City Lights picks up where Southern Roots leaves off. Good news? It is read as a stand alone. They all are. You can read this one without having to read Southern Roots, although I highly suggest you do. At least for character development.
City Lights is Blaine's story. You'll take a deeper dive into who he is and what makes him tick. You'll get to know his best friend, Matt, a little more. You'll also get to meet a new band with an amazing bass player named Penelope. This girl comes in and changes everything there is in Blaine's life... for the better. She's a gothic rock and roll girl who is really down to earth. She loves her music and loves her friends. Maybe she'll learn to like Blaine.
You'll also get to know Penelope's lead singer, Derek. He's a force to be reckoned with in his own light.
Blaine is a recovering drug addict. He is tempted every day of his life to drink, use drugs or simply shift his addiction to something new. This is something Blaine has to live with the rest of his life. Penelope is gun shy on getting to know him and doesn't want to become his next addiction. What is a hot, sexy lead singer of a mega band to do? You know it; fight for the girl!

Fueled Desire

Abby makes a come back in this story and you'll take a serious deep dive into her life. You'll find out why she is the way she is and you MIGHT just feel a little sorry for the girl. Don't judge people by their actions; she's a prime example of that.
Abby decides she's had enough of Texas and is ready to venture out to find herself. What she didn't count on was finding Clive.
This Scotsman erupts Abby's self loathing thoughts with humor, aggravation and down right sexiness. The man is something else... He's a lot of fun and Abby won't realize it at first, but the man just might be good for her.
She will deal with some drama of her own during the story. Overcoming emotional abuse from her parents, Abby sets out to know that someone in this world will love her for who she is. Someone needs to see her for who she is, not what she's done.
Is Clive that man? Well you'll just have to wait and see!

Driven Hunger

Remember Makayla and Matt? Good! They make a reappearance in this story! Makayla has recently become single and is looking to have a good time.
Insert Matt here.
She ventures to a Deep Ember concert and reconnects with the group. The friendship with Matt shifts into something else... friends with benefits.
Someone always gets off and someone always gets hurt... right? Well maybe.
While Makayla is having a great time with Matt and Matt is enjoying his "new friend", she will realize... maybe too late... her feelings for her old beau may not be as strong as she once thought.
When tragedy occurs, Matt will show up just in time... but can he save Makayla in the process? This story is heart wrenching and I think Matt will be the best book boyfriend EVER! It is HARD to top Clive, but I'll be honest with you. I think Matt has done it.
I'm still writing their story, but as it's coming out now, he has completely captivated me. I'm excited to publish their story for you.

Paramour

Last and definitely not least, is Paramour. Derek gets his own happily ever after. He will get his first real relationship. He's recently come out of the closet (you'll read this in City Lights) and meets a hot Scotsman named Scotty.
Scotty will bring a new light to Derek's dark world. 
This story will most likely become a novella rather than a full length novel. I don't imagine much drama will take place in this story, other than Derek being the bitch that he is. HAHA!
Scotty is a sexy, good looking male dancer who performs in a male burlesque show... nude! Derek will definitely have an adventure on his hands!
